1927 Photograph from inside the courtroom as notorious gangster and bootlegger George Remus was standing trial for murder in Cincinnati. Remus was one of the top gangsters of the Al Capone era and this capture and trial is one of the first to show a notorious gangster facing the long arm of the law! He beat the rap by pleading insanity and then was let out of an asylum after only seven months! One of the most important criminals of the era and this is the only image of him we have handled. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption on the back.
