After graduating from college Fred Rogers returned to Pittsburgh in 1953 to work behind the scenes on a new childrens show for the local station titled "Children's Corner" with Josie Carey. What they did was essentially change the world in the process. The offered 1955 photograph of Josie with her co-star Fred Rogers would be the first time he was ever photographed on the set of a childrens show as he peeked out from behind one of his puppet sets to smile with the real star of the local show. It would be another eight years before he himself appeared on camera and thirteen years before the first episode of Mr. Rogers neighborhood aired! The fact that this photo even exists is amazing and it is the most significant piece of photography in the world picturing Mr. Rogers! Offered here for the first time ever fresh out of a newspaper archive, this one belongs in a museum!
