c. 1922 Posed action photograph of a player named Dee Maynard in uniform with the New York Yankees who was trying to make the best club in the American League. He never did and in fact, he has no statistical record of ever playing professional baseball. This was common in the days after WWI when players jumped from high level amateur teams directly to the big leagues, and then back to coal mines if things did not work out. Issued by Pacific and Atlantic and stamped on the back, this is the only known image of this player that exists!
