Ad Swigler is perhaps the most obscure New York Giants player of all time along with the famed Moonlight Graham. Although a decent pitcher by all accounts, he made exactly one appearance for the 1917 New York Giants, and essentially was never heard from again. So rare is Swigler that this is one of only two photographs of him. Perhaps the best photograph ever taken of this legendary rarity, he is actually throwing the ball in full uniform! Issued by NEA and stamped on the back from the next year (1918) when he must have been trying to make the squad again.
