c. 1903 Early studio photograph of Hall of Famer Hugh Jennings from the Baltimore Orioles in full uniform. Originally this was a cabinet photograph but the image was peeled off and then reglued later at some point to thinner paper (actually another photograph that was recycled in a news-room) for easier editorial use and storage. The file date on the back is from when it was filed in the Detroit News (1919) and all their old photographs have that date on them, it just means it was there when they started file stamping. One of Jennings' most visually stunning pieces of photography that has ever been taken! There are some editorial enhancements (tracing and stray pencil marks) on the front which can be removed but the quality of the photograph is strong despite pinholes at the corners.
