1910 Silver gelatin photograph of a classroom filled with immigrant children in New York City with the class giving a weird almost Nazi-like salute as a symbol of pledging allegiance to the flag. A cool image that was surely innocent at the time but has some racial overtones today, this is a fantastic clear photograph off the original negative and taken directly from the archives of Underwood and Underwood. Aside from a crease at the far right, the photo appears to be almost perfect!
