Lot Description  

Incredible image of the FIRST voyage to America of the Hindenburg as it lay safely moored in Lakehurst New Jersey on May 10, 1936. The Hindenburg would not meet as happy an ending the next time it arrived in Lakehurst! It stands today, like the Titanic, as a symbol of the fallibility of mans technological achievements, no matter how great. Photo is crystal clear and bold with a full paper caption from the International News on the back.
