1937 Photograph of St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer Dizzy Dean looking on in Brooklyn instead of taking the mound. He had been suspended by Ford Frick for a tirade in the newspaper. In essence, this event changed his life forever. He apologized just in time to pitch in the All Star Game, then promptly got an injury that affected his career in a bad way, essentially ending his reign as a top pitcher in baseball. What you are looking at here is the end of Dizzy Dean! A rare image from this event issued by Acme and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well.
