1936 Photograph of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt as he arrives at the Polo Grounds to throw out the first pitch of the World Series between the Yankees and Giants. While at first this does not seem like a big deal, when put into the context of the Great Depression, Roosevelt did not want the country to see his inability to walk and take it as a sign of weakness so they made arrangements for the car to be driven right on the field! A rare image from Acme and in nearly perfect condition.
