The 1927 Yankees were filled with big bats and big names. Cedric Durst was not one of those. A quality player who was an important cog in the wheel of the Murderers Row squad, Durst flew under the radar of opposing pitchers and of the photographers whose job it was to chronicle the game. As such not many images of Durst are known to exist and this is one of the best! Taken in 1930 as a member of the Boston Red Sox, this is the only example of him from the Sox we have seen. Photo has some light emulsion loss (as produced in 1930) at the top but otherwise it is quite nice.
