Lot Description  

1922 Piercing portrait photograph of young Rogers Hornsby from the St. Louis Cardinals. His numbers justify Hornsby being one of the most valuable and collected stars in the history of baseball, but for some reason he just hasn't got there, yet. Quality items of Hornsby remain one of the best bargains in the hobby and this portrait is one of his finest we have offered! Issued by Wide World Photos and with a secondary stamp from NEA that clearly dates this to 1922!
