1913 Deep and bold portrait photograph of Hall of Fame manager of the Athletics Connie Mack snapped in the dugout from the height of his career. Paper caption on the back notes that his team was entering the World Series against the Giants and that he believed he would "again come off as victor". Heavily silvered from age, there is no doubt this is a 1913 original despite a later file stamp of 1927 from a newspaper archive. Without a doubt this is one of the finest images of Mack we have handled in the twenty years we have been examining baseball photographs!
