The father is at the far left looking dejected that his wife and children are all being forced to labor out of the house while the dinner table doubles as a work station with six people working while a small child clings to his mother. With so much going on, this is a work of art that could have an entire book written about the symbolism and nuances of the image. A completely original silver gelatin contact print, the image presents well with a scratch on the negative responsible for the line at the right side.
