Nearing the end of her life c. 1910 American Red Cross founder Clara Barton sat for a couple of studio photographs in a black dress and wearing the height of Victorian Era fashion. Of those handful of images, this is the only example that dates to Barton's lifetime (c. 1912) that we ever handled. A vintage original press photograph that looks like it was issued by the International Newsreel, this was mounted to artist board (red of course) and was used for vintage displays by the Red Cross itself! While the photo is completely vintage to the pre WWI era, the back is not able to be seen to reveal any press stamps etc. The overall condition is nice and this is the only vintage example of a Clara Barton photograph we have ever handled!
