Incredible and thought provoking 1917 dated image of no mans land, the space between trenches during WWI divided by a sea of barbed wire. A dramatic image especially now with so many reflections on the war as it is 100 years old, showing the areas that would lead to the death of so many soldiers at the time. Stamped on the back by Underwood and Underwood and with a full paper caption, this is one of the only ones we have seen where the barbed wire and its sections of earth it protected were the sole subjects of the photo!
