In a weird twist of fate and a gift from the football gods, Elroy Hirsch from the University of Wisconsin was transferred to Michigan as part of his WWII training and allowed to play football for the Wolverines! Something like that would never happen today, but in 1943 it was fine. Here the newest Wolverine is seen cutting through the lines of Camp Grant in his first ever game with Michigan, scoring his first touchdown of the season. A fantastic clear image issued by Acme and stamped on the back with a full paper caption (detached but present).
