1959 Was the breakout year for young slugger Harmon Killebrew. He was one of the most highly touted rookies in decades but it took home nearly five years to finally get going. Once he found his groove though, he became one of the top sluggers in baseball history and this photograph was taken early in the year when he took the leap to superstardom. Taken by rock-star photographer Don Wingfield and stamped on the back, this is a rare combination of superstar player and famous artist!
