Lot Description  

Incredible image of one-armed Major Leaguer Pete Gray signing an autograph for one of the many WWII Amputees that he inspired. Dated 1945, this is the BEST image of gray we have ever seen, period! Nice caption on the back talks of Gray being an inspiration to this particular soldier and many others. Poignant photo which is a wonderful cross-over collectible. Incredible clarity and great condition (note, white spot is a flaw in the negative and not damage to the photo which is almost perfect with one tiny crease on the lower right). Possibly his greatest image ever taken!
