1911 Silver gelatin photograph of the coronation of George V, the new King of England. The image shows the new King in his carriage, carefree about the future, unaware that the worst war in history was coming at him like a freight train. Stamped on the back by Paul Thompson and with pretty nice clarity, the image has some editorial painting from publication but otherwise it looks pretty good. There is creasing at the top and bottom from handling over the last 100 years.
