It is odd to see a photograph that captures the exact moment that history changed, but this photo of Charles Lindbergh as his airplane "The Spirit of St. Louis" leaves New York for Paris is just such an image. Charles Lindbergh became the most famous man in America after his flight from New York to Paris. When this photo was taken, he was a "Daredevil Airmail Pilot" trying to make a name for himself. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and directly from their archives, it is one of only a handful known of Lindbergh's plane leaving New York. Condition is not bad with some chipping on the top border. This is the only example of this photo we have ever seen.
