1960 Action photograph of young Boston Celtics star Bill Russell in uniform and dribbling the ball toward the camera. When Topps decided in 1968 to test the market for a series of basketball cards, this was THE PHOTO they selected for Russell's card, making it one of the most important ever taken of the basketball legend. The quality of the photo is perfect, off the original negative and dated several times on the back and while the image presents nearly perfect, it does have a tiny corner chip on the upper left. One of the most significant basketball card images we have handled!
