Original 1936 photo of Max Schmeling the day after he beat Joe Louis for the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Caption on the back reads, "It must be those glasses, this paper says I kayoed the Brown Bomber in the 12th Round of our Yankee Stadium Scrap Last Night. That can't be right because all the experts said I couldn't win". He is seen with dark sunglasses to cover his black eyes but poses for the camera with the newspaper announcing his victory held up with pride. Condition is fantastic and the image was mounted as part of the production process and looks great!
