Joe Jeanette was one of the greatest boxers of the era dominated by anti-Jack Johnson feelings that led to him never getting a shot at the title he deserved. Jeanette dominated the sport in the early 20th century and was relegated to fighting other black boxers like Sam Langford (who he fought 15 times). The offered rare photo from Underwood and Underwood shows him in 1920 fighting with Georges Carpentier as the white Frenchman prepared for his chance at the title (despite being half the fighter Jeanette was). One of the only original images of Jeanette that we have ever seen in any form and it is in great condition!
