1947 Photograph from the rookie season of Jackie Robinson as he is plunked by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The issues between Robinson and the Pirates are well documented and even appear several times in the recent film "42" with this being an early season beanball before Jackie was allowed to fight back. The pitcher on this day was Hank Behrman and Robinson is shown trying to keep his balance moments after impact with his bat still suspended in the air before dropping to the ground. An important image from Acme and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, the condition and quality are outstanding. This is the only image of an actual Robinson beaning from his rookie year that we have ever seen and it is a historic piece of baseball memorabilia.
