Beautiful and clear c. 1910 photograph from Hilltop Park in New York, home of the Highlanders (now Yankees) and showing their scoreboard in left field complete with fans perched along the base for a good look at the game against the champion Philadelphia Athletics. The Highlanders were not much of an attraction at the time and images of the team are pretty rare, with images of Hilltop park being even rarer. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only example of this photo that uses the scoreboard as the subject we have ever seen. All other images that capture this structure are in the background of the photo and not the major focal point! Despite some edge chipping, the image is clean and it bears an obscured stamp on the back, likely from George Grantham Bain. 100% original to about 1910.
