Original early photograph of an eager young Walter Johnson hoping to make it big in baseball and posing in his best suit at the ballpark. Issued by Underwood and Underwood, the paper label lists this as 1907 but we have seen it identified as a 1909 photograph. Issued twenty years later (1927) this is one of the only known examples of this photograph to date to Johnson's career that we have ever seen offered. There is a cool note about the style Johnson is wearing and how it was "so popular with the rising young men f that generation."
