1898 Mounted portrait photograph of Jesse Tannehill, an extremely young southpaw pitcher from the Pittsburgh Pirates who was coming off a season in which he won 25 games. One of the top young players in the game, this is his own portrait photograph he gifted to his family member named Beulah. On the back it appears that Tannehill has signed his name and home town and wrote "Please Return". Later in 1957 his relative wrote some information after this picture was framed. The 4x6 inch studio portrait has been signed by the photographer on the corner and was pulled off the mount when it was framed, but the family kept the backing which is a nice touch. A unique image of one of the better players of his era, he was also a 1903 Yankees pitcher among other teams. Offered here for the first time ever and recently found in the Tannehill home! Photo also comes with an image of an elderly man which may be Jesse's father that was found among Jesse's possessions as well.
