1903 Absolutely incredible photograph of fans crashing the gate and getting some help from paid customers on the right side of the fence in order to get into the Huntington Avenue Grounds in Boston for game three of the World Series between the Red Sox and Pirates. Taken on October 3, 1903, the game was significant at the time, but the legacy would grow year after year and today the first 'World Series" is the stuff of legend. What these men witnessed on this day was a Deacon Phillipe outdueling the Red Sox and taking control of the series back to the Pirates. The Red Sox would rally though and take the series in the eighth game. The offered photograph is the only one we have never seen before in any form and it is being offered here for the first time ever. This is a slightly later re-strike, taken around 1920 based on the style of photography and paper, but is still one of the finest images of the first world series ever taken!
