One of the most famous photographs ever taken is the Nat Fein "Babe Bows Out" photograph of the greatest sports star of all time making his final appearance in front of his fans. The photograph has been celebrated for half a century as poignant and dramatic for the subject matter but also for the foresight of Fein who thought stand BEHIND Ruth for a more dramatic feel. Other images from this fateful day on the diamond are just as good, but get lost in the shuffle and this is one of those. A fantastic image of Ruth from the front, taken a few moments from the one shot by Fein, but this symbolic relic shows Ruth tipping his cap to the fans and saying goodbye to the Yankees! A double weight original, this photo appears to have significant age to it, but is blank backed so any estimate of the date is just that, an estimate. We feel this specimen dates to about the 1970's.
