1942 Photograph of Hank Greenberg shortly after being inducted into the military and playing in an exhibition game just a few months after Pearl Harbor. Shown with Nick Altrock and clowning around, Greenberg was probably the greatest casualty of WWII when it comes to playing sacrificing years of their stats to the greater good. Relatively few images of Greenberg exist playing ball in military uniform and this is one of the best, issued by the Associated Press and with a full paper caption.
