Rare 1948 photograph from Cuidad Trujillo in the Dominican Republic of young rookie catcher Roy Campanella in uniform and working out with the Brooklyn Dodgers. An extremely early and rare photo of Campy from before he ever played in a major league game, it also pictures another youngster Carl Furillo as he tries to score in the game as well! Issued by the International News and stamped on the back, the paper caption identifies the photographer as Hugh Broderick, one of the men who took most of the early images of Jackie Robinson and Campanella. Paper caption is loose but present.
