1943 Photograph of the new owner of the Philadelphia Phillies, 28 year old Bob Carpenter posed along with his wife and kids and presenting the image of a family man. He had just taken control of the team after it was purchased by his father and he would help turn the fortunes of the club around, signing young players Robin Roberts and Richie Ashburn and taking the team to the World Series in 1950! A rare early image from the Associated Press and in great shape overall.
