Touching c. 1905 silver gelatin photograph of the wreckage of the Battleship Maine as it lay partially covered by the ocean in Cuba, this is in near perfect condition and stamped on the back by the New York Herald Syndicate. One of the seminal events of the turn of the century, the "Maine" is largely forgotten today but remains an important part of history with this being a clear and bold original photograph.
