Original portrait photograph in uniform of key "Black Sox" figure Morrie Rath from the Cincinnati Reds. When the Gamblers and Players from the White Sox had reached a tentative agreement, the Gamblers asked for a signal that "The Fix is on" which was that the first batter from the Reds would be hit by the pitcher. That man ended up being Morrie Rath and with a flip from Eddie Cicotte, Rath was plunked and headed to first base. The Gamblers licked their chops while the rest of the baseball world had no idea anything fishy was going on. The offered image is a quality silver gelatin portrait photo in nice shape with note to an obvious corner chip but presents extremely well.
