Incredible 1913 embossed cabinet photograph of the baseball legend Ty Cobb in the studio of C.M. Hayes of Detroit and posing along with his mother and children. This had to represent the happiest days in the life of the tumultuous ballplayer as he was a financial success, had two small children and was the most famous athlete in the world! The photo portion is embossed from the photographer and it is mounted to a huge cabinet backing, also from the Detroit studio. The silver gelatin original photograph is in nice shape overall with some minor foxing being essentially the only issue. One of the finest and most thought provoking images of Cobb we have had the pleasure of handling and certainly one the highest quality on the planet!
