Mike Donlin was one of the best hitters of his era, but he loved ladies and the stage more than the game of baseball and he quit it all for a girl and shot at stardom! Eventually he found a happy medium where he reconciled his love of baseball and acting to where he made some silent films and also appeared from time to time on the diamond. Here he is seen in a Boston Red Sox jersey c. 1929 and is playing around with Bill Courtney. A nice image of one of baseballs great mysteries, it presents well with note to a crease on the upper right that has been repaired on the back with tape. Stamped on the back by Egan-Jacoby of Boston, this is quite possibly a unique image.
