Important 1942 photograph of Hall of Famer Branch Rickey as he takes the helm of the Brooklyn Dodgers. While at the time it must have seemed like a weird shift for Rickey, it would signal a change in both baseball and the social fabric of the world as he would sign Jackie Robinson a few years later. He is seen here with his Hall of Fame manager as well, Leo Durocher! Issued by the Associated Press and stamped on the back, this is a nice example.
