Gabby Street was a baseball star in an era where defense and leadership were valued above hitting. He was the preferred catcher of Walter Johnson but was traded to the Yankees before the 1912 season in hopes that he could turn the fortunes of the team around. He would only play part of the season in New York making images of him in pinstripes VERY rare with this being the only one we have seen. Issued by the International News and stamped on the back, the photo has corner chipping and wear but it presents pretty well overall.
