Original c. 1912 photograph of star baseball player Fred Merkle who is unfortunately known today more for a single mistake he made than two decades worth of accomplishments. A silver gelatin original that is likely unique, there is a telling inscription on the back in ink from a newspaper man who has titled him the "Giant Crippler." Condition and quality are both quite nice.
