1941 Detailed and poignant photo of the Lou Gehrig Monument being unveiled during ceremonies at Yankee Stadium on July 6, 1941. His Yankees teammates are pictured at the left and Eleanor is wearing a black dress as she is still in mourning. The opponents this day were the Philadelphia Athletics and they are pictured at the right while their Hall of Fame manager Connie Mack addresses the crowd. This image really speaks to how much Gehrig meant to the game, both teammates and opponents. Wonderful photograph in nice condition overall and a rare (possibly unique) double weight example in great shape. An incredible piece of history from one of the most important players who ever took the field!
