Intense might be the best word to describe Johnny Evers. A member of the Baseball Hall of Fame as much for his "intangibles" as for his stats, he was the most respected field leader among the thousands of players from his generation and in many ways was the face of the game. He is best remembered as the key member of the "Tinker to Evers to Chance" Chicago Cubs of the early 1900's but it is often forgotten that his finest work came as the leader of the 1914 "Miracle Braves" which is where we find him here. Adorned in his 1914 Braves uniform, Evers poses for the camera in one of his most iconic images ever taken. This is the work of iconic photographer Charles Conlon who has adorned the back with his handwritten notes and signature on the back as well. A perfect 10/10 that is among the finest images of Evers to ever be sold publicly!
