1944 Dramatic photograph of Marines being unloaded on D-Day on the beach at Normandy. This photo was used to illustrate the fact that many boats were forced to unload their troops a distance away from the beach and the soldiers had to wade a long distance with heavy packs to hit the beach! Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption, this was made from a newsreel still!
