1964 Photograph of the two primary pilots of the Gemini space mission, set to be the first men in space until tragedy struck. Seen here in the cockpit are Virgil "Gus" Grissom and John Young. Grissom was the shining light of the Space Race until his tragic death during a training exercise in 1967. The offered image captures him front and center and it is an official NASA image in pretty nice shape with some artistic marks and a bit of a curl from handling.
