Incredible lot of (115) vintage 1930's photographs by noted photographer George Burke capturing stars of old days. Burke was trying to get images of everyone that he could sell to newspapers and magazines and this collection represents that effort. Each is consistent with Burke's early work and captures a mix of huge name Hall of Famers and some lesser players as well. Among the 115 present are Johnny Evers, Ed Plank, Jim Thorpe, Ed Walsh, Elmer Flick, Rube Waddell, Hugh Duffy, Bobby Wallace, Eddie Collins, Charles Ebbets, Ed Barrow, Amos Rusie, Joe McGinnity, Casey Stengel, Jigger Statz, Doc White, Ira Thomas etc. A majority of these images are off Burke's copy negatives but many are off the original negatives as well making them nearly 100 year old gems of photography. These are stamped on the back and are generally in perfect condition!
