1928 Incredible photograph of the two best hitters in baseball, Lou Gehrig and Rogers Hornsby in uniform. While Hornsby was the veteran here, it was clear that Gehrig was the star as he is seated at center in street clothes. A stunning image of Gehrig from early in his career, this is stamped on the back by the Thorne Studios making it a special piece of photography pitting two of the biggest stars in the game and one of the best photographers behind the lens. The condition and quality are both outstanding and this is the only example of this photograph that we are aware of in the hobby!
