It was no secret among baseball insiders that John McGraw had coveted the services of Ed Roush for years. After the 1926 season he finally saw an opportunity to get his man and traded George Kelly to the Reds for him. After all that work, Ed refused to sign and it caused a soap opera like setting in New York. Finally, terms were reached and at this moment captured here we see McGraw and Roush shaking hands on the field with Roush in Giants uniform! A symbolic image that represents a long courtship and two Hall of Famers! Issued by the International News and stamped on the back with a paper caption, it is in nice shape overall with a small corner chip being the only flaw. Roush did not disappoint, batting .304 for the Giants!
