Early Louis Van Oeyen silver gelatin photograph of St. Louis Browns Pitcher Tom Jones. Extremely early Van Oeyen and one of the earliest we have ever seen, this is crystal clear and a work of art considering the primitive cameras of the era. Jones is also a rare subject as he retired in 1910, well before most press organizations would have taken photographs of baseball players! Condition is quite nice with two extremely light pinholes on the top border. This photo originally sold for $1068 in our May 2014 Auction!
