The 1940's were famous for sprouting their own league for women to play baseball during war-time in the United States. Whether they were following the lead or came up with it on their own, Cuba followed the lead and came up with their own league and the champions are pictured here, the Estrellas Habaneras (Havana Lady Stars) in full uniform. With uniforms and hairstyles that mimicked the AAGPBL, this is also significant as it was obviously INTEGRATED making these ladies some of the first black professional women ballplayers. An important image in great condition and the only one of its kind we have ever seen!
