Lot Description  

Vintage c. 1927 portrait photograph of the iconic Lou Gehrig in full uniform for the New York Yankees. Beautiful and bold, this is actually a unique piece of baseball photographic artwork. An original "vintage 1" portrait photo of Gehrig was die-cut and adhered to artist board and then used for publication by the Sporting News. The image of Gehrig is one of the best ever taken!
