Booker T. Washington was one of the most important and influential leaders of the turn of the century as the most respected African Americans of all time. He passed away in 1915 and images of him are extremely rare with this example by the Gilliams Press Syndicate being the only vintage specimen we have ever seen. Aside from an indentation caused by a paper clip and some artistic enhancements from publication, this is an incredible piece of photograph.
